North Hill is Pensacola's most architecturally intact historic residential neighborhood — a preservation district of Victorian and early-twentieth-century homes on a grid of live-oak streets just north of downtown. The North Hill Preservation Association has kept the neighborhood's building stock largely intact, and North Palafox Street serves as the corridor connecting the district to the city's downtown activity. Porches face the sidewalks, the tree canopy is genuinely old-growth, and the neighborhood feels like it has been carefully maintained.
